Ryanair decided to retain its faith in the controversy-ridden Boeing 737 Max aircraft, though the airline company has postponed the purchase of five of the new aircraft models to winter of 2019-20.

Ryanair was all prepared to start the usage of the brand new B737 Max 200 model – a high-density version of the B737 Max 8. The airline received delivery of its final B737-800 in December last year.

The confirmation on the delay of delivery came into light as Ryanair unveiled profits for the whole year which is €1.02 billion. It has come down 29 percent on the previous year.

The first five aircraft was due in summer this year but it will be pushed back to November this year instead. Another 42 aircraft were due in the winter season which will be delivered during the summer of 2020.

Pre-delivery payments have been also been stalled as stated by the carrier itself. Ryanair “expects” the new Boeing models to cover lost profits, added the carrier in its statement. Ryanair happens to be in talks with the US airframer as well.

The airline also reportedly made a comment about its revised delivery schedule which depends on the European Union Aviation Safety Agency approval.

Many renowned airline companies have grounded the Boeing models post the twin accidents of Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines that killed several people. Carriers like American Airlines has gone through large numbers of flight cancellation with numerous stranded passengers all around the world due to the grounding of the B737 Max models.
