Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un chose to travel from Pyongyang to Vladivostok by train for his first summit meeting with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
As per the North state media, Kim’s private train left for Vladivostok at dawn on Wednesday (April 24) with affectionate send-offs from the leading officials of his party, government as well as armed forces of the country and the public.
There weren’t many details provided about the train though. It arrived at the Pacific port city on Wednesday evening. According to the reports by Russian officials the Supreme leader of North Korea was welcomed by a military orchestra before speeding off in his personal limousine.
Reportedly, the car didn’t have much over the ‘Beast’, which President of the USA, Donald Trump ostentatiously granted Kim with when they met for the first time. Trump had also arranged for a flashy black Mercedes which was pre-delivered and waiting for Kim when he got into town to meet the American President.
Kim was reportedly traveling with a big entourage of over 200 people along with a load of supplies. Kim’s train, quite distinguishable with its dark green paint job and yellow piping, grabbed the eyeballs of the world media just fine.
The locomotive is built like a tank. For security reasons, officials reportedly make sure to collect Kim’s bodily waste and even the stubbed butts of the cigarettes to prevent foreign intelligence agencies from collecting and testing the samples them for clues into the leader’s health conditions.
The train is also equipped with advanced communication as well as entertainment apparatus, for instance, a flat-screen TV. It is mainly for the purpose of providing orders through live communication along with receiving news and briefings while on the way.
