Traveling to the Latin American country, Brazil has just got easier for tourists from these four countries: United States, Canada, Japan and Australia. Effective today (June 17 2019) foreign tourists from these four countries don’t need a visa to travel to any of the cities in Brazil. Further travelers from these countries can stay up to a period of 90 days during their tourist visit and can also extend their stay up to a period of 180 days subject to approval from the concerned authorities, reports koamnews.com.

It may be highlighted that visitors from European and neighboring Latin American countries have been performing visa free travel to Brazil from a long time and with this new travel regulation in effect from today tourists from United States, Canada, Japan and Australia will also start enjoying similar waiver of visa to travel to Brazil.

In the last couple of years Brazil implemented minor changes in its travel policy for tourists from other countries.

In the year 2016 when the Brazilian city, Rio de Janeiro was hosting summer Olympics Brazil waived off visa temporarily for people from United States, Canada, Japan and Australia in order to boost tourism into Brazil.

In the year 2017 Brazil has introduced a hassle free and convenient e-visa online facility for tourists from the same four countries at a fee of $40 giving them an advantage of not having to travel to the consulate or embassy in person.

The Brazilian Ministry Of Tourism has recorded a 35% increase in the number of online visa applications in the year 2018.

Tourism to Brazil has been on the rise and just in the year 2018 many new transatlantic flight services have been launched to various cities in Brazil. Virgin Atlantic and Norwegian Air have launched new transatlantic flights from London to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro respectively.

American Airlines accounts for the largest market share of transatlantic flights to Brazil from the United States, has non-stop flight services from the US to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Manaus.
